Working With Startups

We work with startups that offer a great idea, excellent tech, a top management team, a large addressable market, and critical political problems or opportunities that we can solve to materially accelerate growth. For Uber, that meant fighting the taxi industry to make ride sharing legal. For Lemonade, it meant securing insurance licenses in every state (often over the objections of the incumbents) so they could launch and operate. For Eaze, it meant securing approvals in California cities to permit on demand marijuana delivery. For Nexar, it meant forming partnerships with cities, states, insurers, ride sharing companies, and telecom companies and fighting harmful vehicle to vehicle regulations in Washington. For FanDuel, it meant making daily fantasy sports legal in over a dozen states. We tend to work with Series A startups but have worked with companies at Seed and Growth too.
