John Wyma is an accomplished government relations, communications, and political strategist.
He has devised winning advocacy campaigns on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit institutions, and candidates for public office. Wyma has guided diverse interests, including AT&T, Lehman Brothers, Northern Trust Corporation, Macquarie Group, Harrah’s Entertainment, ING Group, SAP, KPMG, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Kraft Foods, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and a coalition of Chicago’s leading cultural museums. John specializes in helping entities facing disruption or regulation, be it from government or competitors. He’s adept in all dimensions of political management – policy, press, and politics.
Prior to private consulting, Wyma served as Chief of Staff to Senator Charles E. Schumer (NY), Chief of Staff to Congressman Bart Stupak (MI), Chief of Staff to Congressman Rod Blagojevich (IL), and Legislative Director to Congressman Howard Wolpe (MI).
John has run numerous congressional, senate, and gubernatorial political campaigns. He has additionally served as an outside advisor to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the Democratic Governors Association (DGA).
John holds a B.A. from Hope College and an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management. He resides in Washington, DC.
